Financial Projections (BETA)
Updated 13 May 2026
BETA: This feature is in active development. Some behaviours may change.
The Projections tab forecasts your revenue and labour costs for upcoming periods based on your published rota. Use it for cash-flow planning, budget tracking, and identifying high-cost weeks before they arrive.
How projections are calculated
Projections combine two data sources:
- Published rota — the shifts scheduled for future weeks determine the projected labour hours and cost
- Client contracts — the contract rates set in the Clients tab determine the projected revenue for those deployments
The result is a forward-looking view of revenue vs labour cost, broken down by week and by client.
Forecast horizon
The default forecast horizon is 4 weeks ahead from today. This can be adjusted in the Projections settings. Extending the horizon gives you more lead time for planning, but accuracy decreases the further out you project — rota changes, absences, and unplanned deployments all affect the final figures.
Reading the projections view
- Per-week projection — see total projected revenue, labour cost, and gross margin for each week in the horizon
- Per-client breakdown — expand any week to see projections split by client/venue, so you can see which accounts are driving revenue and cost in that period
Use cases
- Cash-flow planning — understand when large payroll weeks fall and whether incoming contract revenue will cover them
- Identifying high-cost weeks — spot weeks where projected labour cost is significantly above average, and investigate whether that is expected (e.g. a major event) or a scheduling error
- Margin visibility — see at a glance whether upcoming weeks are projected to be profitable before the shifts are worked
Keeping projections accurate
Projections are only as accurate as your published rota and contract rates. If the rota changes after you run a projection — shifts added, cancelled, or reassigned — tap or click Refresh to recalculate with the latest data. Unpublished rota drafts are not included in projections.
