Patrol Monitor (Live Map)

The Patrol Monitor is a live, real-time map of guards currently on duty across the sites your role has access to. It's part of the Dispatcher add-on — if your company doesn't have it enabled, the tab won't appear. Speak to your administrator if you expect to see it.
What you can see
- Guard markers — each clocked-in guard appears as a colour-coded pin on the map. Colours indicate status: on patrol (green), stationary (amber), alert or overdue (red).
- Patrol breadcrumb trails — the GPS path a guard has walked during their current patrol round, shown as a line of points on the map.
- Site boundaries — venue perimeters overlaid on the map where configured.
- Active alerts — lockdowns, BOLOs, and other live alerts surfaced as overlays.
Interacting with guard markers
Tap or click any guard's marker to open a detail panel showing:
- Their name and current site.
- Time on shift and last recorded activity.
- Message and call buttons (if a number is on file).
Filters
Use the filter controls to narrow the map view: filter by site, time window, or role. This is especially useful when managing multiple sites simultaneously — focus on one venue at a time without losing the broader picture.
Refresh rate
The map refreshes every few seconds. You don't need to reload manually — guard positions update as new GPS pings arrive from their devices.
When to use Patrol Monitor vs Dispatcher Dashboard
The Patrol Monitor is a passive observation tool — use it to watch, verify, and monitor. For active orchestration (reassigning guards, broadcasting messages, triggering bulk check calls), switch to the Dispatcher Dashboard.
Tips
- GPS accuracy varies by device and signal quality. A stationary marker doesn't necessarily mean the guard hasn't moved — it may mean their device hasn't sent a ping recently.
- Breadcrumb trails are smoothed automatically to reduce GPS noise.
- Best used for large events, multi-site deployments, and overnight supervision.
