Site instructions
Updated 13 May 2026
The Site Instructions tab shows pinned, venue-specific instructions for the site you are working at. These are written by management and cover everything that is specific to that location — the things that are different from one site to the next.
What site instructions contain
Site Instructions vary by venue but typically include:
- Evacuation routes and muster points specific to the building
- Key contacts at the venue (site manager, facilities, control room)
- Parking and access procedures
- Lockup and handover procedures
- Radio channels and communication protocols for that site
- Any standing restrictions or special conditions the client has requested
Alarm codes and other sensitive security details are usually communicated separately (verbally or via the office), not stored in Site Instructions.
Read before you start your shift
Make a habit of checking Site Instructions at the start of any shift at a venue you have not worked before, or after a gap since your last visit. Procedures and contacts change — what was true six months ago may have been updated.
Updated instructions
When management publishes new or revised instructions, they are flagged so you can spot what has changed. If you receive a briefing that references a specific instruction, you can come back to this tab during your shift to read it again.
Site Instructions vs SOPs
- Site Instructions are venue-specific — they apply only to that location. A different site has different instructions.
- SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures, found in the SOPs & Docs tab) are company-wide — they apply regardless of which site you are working. Examples: uniform standards, escalation procedures, incident reporting policy.
When something contradicts: venue-specific instructions for that site take precedence over the general SOP for matters specific to that site. When in doubt, ask your manager.
When the tab is not visible
Site Instructions only appear if your company has the feature enabled. If you do not see the tab in your navigation, speak to your manager — they can confirm whether it is available and whether any instructions have been set up for your current site.
