SOPs and company documents
Updated 13 May 2026
The SOPs tab is your on-shift reference library — Standard Operating Procedures, post orders, the staff handbook, escalation procedures, training manuals, and any other documents your company has uploaded for you to reference.
The tab is only visible if your company has the Docs feature enabled.
Finding a document
- Tap the SOPs tab in the bottom navigation.
- The list view shows all documents available to you. Search by name, or filter by category if your company organises documents into sections.
- Tap a document to open it. Long documents can be scrolled within the viewer.
Before asking your manager a "how do I…" question, check here first — the answer is often already documented.
Acknowledging a document
Some documents require acknowledgement — particularly post orders and mandatory policies. When acknowledgement is needed, you will see an I have read this button at the end of the document. Tap it once you have finished reading.
- Management can see who has and has not acknowledged each document.
- If you do not finish reading in one sitting, the button is still there next time you open the document — you can return to it at any point.
- Unacknowledged required documents may affect your compliance record.
Offline access
TacDesk caches documents you have already opened on your device. Once you have read a document while online, you can open it again without an internet connection — useful on sites with poor signal. New documents you have not yet opened will require a connection to load for the first time.
How documents differ from other content
- Documents vs Memos — documents are formal, long-lived reference material; memos are short, timely announcements.
- Documents vs Site Instructions — documents may be company-wide; site instructions are specific to a venue and its post orders.
Tips
- New starters: read your post orders and staff handbook during your first shift. They are your primary reference on the job.
- If you spot an error or something out of date in a document, report it to your manager rather than acting on incorrect information.
- To ensure offline access on a low-signal site, open your key documents at the start of the shift while you still have a connection.
