Management Settings
Updated 28 May 2026
What is the Settings tab?
The Settings tab is the management control panel for company-wide configuration. Changes made here affect all users on your TacDesk site. The sections available depend on your company's enabled features and your role.
Sections overview
- Branding — upload your company logo, set your accent colour, choose light or dark theme defaults, and select the visual style (Flat or Emojis icons). See the Site Branding article for full detail.
- General — company name, default time zone, week start day, and date/time format. These defaults apply to reports, rotas, and timestamps shown across the platform.
- Notifications — system-wide notification defaults for guards and managers, including which events trigger push notifications and in-app alerts.
- Integrations — connect third-party services: Xero for accounting sync, calendar feeds, and any other integrations enabled for your subscription.
- Security baseline — password complexity rules, MFA requirements, and session timeout durations per role. Admins also see Passkey Policy as a separate tab for advanced authentication configuration. Personal passkey enrolment for any individual user (including managers) lives in the Settings tab of their own hub — that is per-device setup, separate from this company-wide policy.
- Compliance — data retention periods, GDPR contact details, and the legal links shown to guards on their privacy dashboard.
Saving changes
Most settings save as soon as you confirm the change or click Save. Branding changes (colours, logo) propagate to guards' devices on their next page refresh. Some integration changes require re-authorisation with the third-party service.
Audit trail
Significant settings changes — such as changes to security policy, integrations, and data retention rules — are logged automatically. You can review these in the system audit log.
Permissions
Most settings sections are accessible to all manager and senior manager roles. Some sub-sections (such as integration credentials and security policy) are restricted to senior managers or admins only.
