Guard Hub BOLO Creation Permission

Updated 17 June 2026

What is this permission?

The Raise BOLO (Guard Hub) permission lets a role raise BOLOs directly from the BOLOs tab in the Guard Hub, using an Add BOLO button that appears when the permission is active. It is separate from BOLO Management, which covers editing, archiving, and closing BOLOs in the Management Hub.

This is useful for supervisors or managers who are working a shift and need to raise a watch alert on the spot, without switching to the Management Hub.

How to enable it

Go to Settings → Role Permissions in the Management Hub. Find the Raise BOLO (Guard Hub) row in the permissions matrix and tick the box for each role you want to grant it to. Tap Save Permissions when done.

  • The permission is off by default for all roles.
  • Administrators always have it regardless of this setting.

What the permitted user can do

A user with this permission can open the BOLOs tab in the Guard Hub and raise a new BOLO — choosing Person or Vehicle, entering a description, attaching up to 5 photos, setting flags, last-seen details, and notes. They can also tick Notify guards via push notification to alert on-duty guards immediately.

Scope of raised BOLOs

The scope depends on whether the user is clocked in when they raise the BOLO:

  • Clocked in — the BOLO defaults to the user's current site. They can tick Make global to make it visible at all sites.
  • Not clocked in — the BOLO is raised as a global alert, visible at all sites.

What this permission does not cover

This permission is create-only. Editing, archiving, and closing BOLOs remains restricted to users with full BOLO Management access in the Management Hub. Grant BOLO Management separately if you also want a role to manage existing BOLOs.
