Capacity Overview

Updated 13 May 2026

The Capacity Overview tab shows live venue occupancy across every site that has the Capacity Tracker enabled. It's gated by the capacity_tracker entitlement — if your company doesn't track venue capacity, the tab won't appear.

What you can see

Each enabled site appears as a row showing:

  • Current count — how many people are currently inside the venue.
  • Venue capacity — the configured maximum for that site.
  • Percentage full — current occupancy as a proportion of capacity.
  • Trend — whether the venue is filling, steady, or emptying.

Rows are colour-coded at a glance:

  • Green — under 80% capacity. Operating normally.
  • Amber — 80–99% capacity. Getting busy; monitor closely.
  • Red — at or over capacity. Immediate attention needed.

Drilling into a site

Tap or click any site row to open its capacity timeline — a chart showing when it filled, current arrival and departure rates, and recent peaks. Use this to anticipate whether the venue is likely to exceed capacity before the shift ends.

Who uses Capacity Overview

  • Portfolio managers — covering many venues, use the overview to spot which sites need attention without visiting each one individually.
  • Event coordinators — monitoring a single high-occupancy venue tightly throughout an event.
  • Supervisors — with the relevant permission, can see Capacity Overview scoped to their sites.

How the numbers are collected

Capacity counts feed from guards' Capacity Tracker widgets on-site — the same data your on-the-ground team is recording in real time. The Capacity Overview is a management-level view of that same data, aggregated across sites.

Compliance note

For venues subject to Martyn's Law (Protect Duty) requirements, venue capacity is a data point that inspectors may request. The capacity timeline provides a timestamped record of occupancy throughout each event, which can be exported or referenced during compliance reviews.
