Your shifts and rota

The Shifts tab shows every shift your manager has assigned to you — this week, next week, and further ahead. It is only visible if your company has the scheduling feature enabled.

Reading a shift card

Each shift card shows:

  • Client / site — where you are working
  • Date, start time, and finish time
  • Your role — for example, Door Supervisor, Static Guard, or Mobile Patrol
  • Special instructions — any notes your manager has added for that specific shift
  • Who else is on — other guards assigned to the same shift, if available

Confirming shifts

Some companies require guards to confirm they have seen their shifts after the rota is published. If confirmation is required, a Confirm button appears on the shift card. Tap it to acknowledge — your manager can see who has and who has not confirmed. If no Confirm button appears, confirmation is not required.

Subscribing to your rota in your calendar

Add your rota to your phone's calendar app so shifts appear alongside your personal events:

  1. In the Shifts tab, tap Subscribe to roster or the calendar icon.
  2. Copy or open the calendar feed URL shown.
  3. In your calendar app, choose "Add calendar by URL" and paste the link.
  4. Your shifts will appear and update automatically when your manager makes changes.

The feed is read-only — changes are always made by your manager in TacDesk, not from your phone calendar.

If a shift looks wrong

If the date, time, site, or role is incorrect — or you cannot make a shift — message your manager through the Messages tab or contact them directly. Do not simply not turn up. Always get written confirmation of any agreed change.

Common questions

Why are there no shifts showing? Your manager may not have published the rota yet. Check back later, or ask them when to expect it.

Can I see shifts for future weeks? Yes, as far ahead as your manager has published. Scroll forward in the Shifts tab.

I am a supervisor — can I see my team's shifts? Your Shifts tab shows your own assigned shifts. Your team's rota is visible in the management dashboard.
