Raising a BOLO from the Guard Hub

Updated 17 June 2026

If your organisation has enabled it for your role, you can raise a BOLO directly from the Guard Hub without going through a manager. The Add BOLO button appears at the top of your BOLOs tab when this permission is active.

How to raise a BOLO

  1. Open the BOLOs tab in the bottom navigation.
  2. Tap Add BOLO.
  3. Choose the type — Person or Vehicle.
  4. Enter a name or description of who or what to watch for.
  5. Optionally attach up to 5 photos to help other guards identify the subject.
  6. Set any relevant flags (e.g. priority level) and fill in last-seen details and any additional notes.
  7. If you want other guards on duty to be notified right away, tick Notify guards via push notification.
  8. Tap Save to publish the BOLO.

Site scope

The scope of a BOLO depends on whether you are clocked in when you raise it:

  • Clocked in — the BOLO is linked to your current site by default. Tick Make global during creation to make it visible at all sites instead.
  • Not clocked in — the BOLO is raised as a global alert, visible at all sites.

What you can and cannot do

You can raise new BOLOs, but editing, archiving, and closing BOLOs is handled by management from the Management Hub. If a BOLO needs to be updated or removed, contact your manager.

Best practice

  • Keep the description clear and specific — registration numbers, clothing, physical details — so other guards can act on it quickly.
  • Attach a photo wherever possible; a clear image makes recognition much easier.
  • Only use Notify guards for alerts that need immediate attention — overuse leads to notification fatigue.
  • If you are unsure whether to raise a BOLO, contact your supervisor first.
