Mobile duty and site visits

Mobile duty is for officers who cover several sites in one shift rather than standing post at a single venue — mobile patrols, lock/unlock, keyholding and alarm response. You clock on to one roving duty, then record a separate site visit each time you arrive at and leave a site.

Starting your duty

1. On the clock screen, tap Start Mobile Duty (next to the normal Clock In button). Mobile duty does not ask you to pick a site and is not tied to one location.
2. You are now On mobile duty for the whole shift. Your position is shared with the control room while you are on duty.

Use the ordinary Clock In button instead only when you are standing post at one fixed site for the shift.

Recording a site visit

1. Open the Duty tab.
2. Tap Arrive, choose the site you have reached, and pick the type of visit — patrol, lock/unlock, inspection or keyholding.
3. The tab now shows On site at that location. Carry out the visit as normal — for a patrol, scan any NFC checkpoints and make your notes.
4. When you are finished, tap Depart. Your time on site is recorded, and a report opens where the visit needs one.
5. Drive to the next site and repeat. Each arrival and departure is its own record.

Ending your duty

At the end of the shift, clock out as usual. Make sure you have departed your last site first so your time on site is accurate.

Working offline

Mobile sites are often in poor-signal areas, so everything works offline. If you have no connection when you start your duty, arrive at a site, or depart, just tap the buttons as normal — each action is saved on your device with a pending marker and uploads automatically the moment you are back online. Keep working; the sync indicator clears itself once everything has sent.

Battery and GPS notes

• Set the app's location permission to Always Allow so your position keeps updating between sites with the screen off.
• Expect higher battery use while on duty — charge before long shifts and keep a charger in the vehicle.
• Indoors or in car parks, GPS can be patchy. Your arrive/depart taps and any checkpoint scans still record correctly.

Common questions

Do I clock on once or at every site? Once. You start one mobile duty for the shift, then record a site visit at each site you reach.

Can I be on two sites at once? No — depart your current site before arriving at the next one.

What if I forget to depart a site? Tell your manager; they can close an open visit from the management side.
