When you see the Dispatcher button

The Dispatcher button is a small map or radar icon that may appear in the top bar of your Guard Hub. This article explains what it is, when you will see it, and what to do if you tap it.

When it appears

The Dispatcher button is only visible when all three of the following are true:

1. You are currently clocked in.
2. Your account has Dispatcher access — typically assigned to supervisors and senior managers, not general guards.
3. The site you are clocked in at has Dispatcher Mode enabled.

If any of these conditions is not met, the button will not appear. That is entirely normal — most guards on most shifts will not see it.

What it does

Tapping the Dispatcher button opens the Patrol Monitor — a live map showing the guards currently on site, their patrol routes, GPS positions, and any active alerts or check-call statuses. This is the same view your management team uses.

When you would use it

This feature is primarily for supervisors who are coordinating a team on site — for example, a supervisor managing multiple guards across a large venue or event who needs to see where everyone is and whether any alerts are active. In that role, you are acting as an on-site dispatcher.

Guards and the Dispatcher button

If you are a general guard and you see this button, it means your role has been configured with Dispatcher access. This is uncommon. If you are unsure whether you should have it, ask your manager — it does not cause any harm to have access, but you should understand what you are looking at before using it to coordinate others.

If you do not see it

As above, not seeing the Dispatcher button is normal. It means one of the three conditions above is not met. There is nothing to troubleshoot unless your manager has specifically told you that you should have access to Dispatcher Mode at your current site.
