Video Footage Library
Updated 13 May 2026
Senior managers and admins only. Other roles will not see this tab.
The Footage tab is also gated by the footage entitlement. If your company doesn't have it enabled, the tab won't appear regardless of your role.
The Footage tab is a video library where you can browse, play back, and manage recordings uploaded from CCTV systems, body-worn cameras, or guard phones. You can link footage directly to incident or use-of-force reports, making it available to reviewers alongside the written record.
Browsing and playing footage
Filter the library by site, date, camera, or tag. Tap or click any item to open the video player. Videos stream directly in the browser — you can skip to any point without waiting for the full file to load.
Linking footage to reports
Open any footage item and use the Link to Report option to connect it to an incident, use-of-force, or other report type. Once linked, the footage appears in the report's detail view for any reviewer who has access. One clip can be linked to multiple reports.
Annotations and retention
- Annotate clips — add timestamps and notes to flag key moments.
- Mark sensitive items — flag clips that contain personal data or require restricted handling.
- Set retention dates — videos should have a retention period set to match your company's data protection policy. Under GDPR, footage of identifiable individuals must not be kept longer than necessary.
Downloads
Download any clip to share with police, insurers, or clients. Downloads are logged for audit purposes.
Data protection
Video footage containing identifiable individuals is personal data under UK GDPR. Set retention dates to match your organisation's policy. Footage is stored in a protected directory and served through a secure endpoint — direct URL access is blocked. All actions (view, link, download, delete) are logged.
